Douglas C. Maute, Esq

As a seasoned attorney with over a decade of experience in professional and general liability matters, Doug brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his clients. Before founding Maute Law, Doug served as a partner at a highly respected civil litigation defense firm, working closely with one of the most experienced trial attorneys in the Philadelphia region. His work focused on high-stakes cases involving catastrophic loss, wrongful death, and personal injury. Prior to that, Doug was a partner at a regional law firm, where he led professional liability and premises liability cases. Earlier in his career, as an associate at a boutique firm specializing in medical malpractice, he successfully navigated the complexities of the first civil case brought by a participant in the witness protection program. His experience in these diverse legal environments has sharpened his litigation skills and deepened his understanding of complex liability issues. Doug's legal career began with a judicial clerkship for the Hon. Karen L. Suter, P.J.Cv., in the Superior Court of New Jersey. He is a graduate of Rutgers Law School, where he served as a law journal editor and teaching assistant, building a strong foundation for his legal practice. In addition to his legal career, Doug holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in environmental planning and design from Rutgers University. He is an active environmental advocate and dedicated volunteer in Burlington County and his hometown of Moorestown, New Jersey, where he serves on the board of the non-profit Strawbridge Lake Beautification Committee. Doug has held leadership positions in the legal and healthcare communities, including serving as president of the New Jersey Society for Health Care Risk Managers. He is a sought-after speaker on healthcare-related legal topics, delivering lectures to medical professionals and nursing students. He also contributes his insight as a member of the Animal Health, Welfare, Agriculture & Veterinary Practices Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association.
